ASPECTS ECONOMIQUES DE LA MILITARISATION ET DE LA DEMILITARISATION DANS L’HEMISPHERE SUD
Résumé
L’hémisphère Sud est une zone stratégique importante, souvent apparentée au secteur maritime, dans laquelle la France joue occupe une place particulière avec ses installations nucléaires. Les dépenses militaires de la zone sont nettement moins élevées que dans l’hémisphère Nord, caractérisées par des importations importantes d’armes, et le rôle important exercé par le Brésil et l’Argentine en matière de production d’armes et du poids exercé par le secteur militaire dans la vie politique. Il existe une militarisation des sociétés d’Amérique latine, malgré le processus de dénucléarisation militaire. En termes économiques et politiques, le Sud subit une dépendance importante exercée par les pays du Nord.
The southern hemisphere is an important strategic area, often related to the maritime sector, in which France plays a special role with its nuclear installations. Military spending in the area is significantly lower than in the northern hemisphere, characterized by significant arms imports, and the important role played by Brazil and Argentina in the production of arms and the weight exerted by the military sector in political life. There is a militarization of Latin American societies, despite the process of military denuclearization. In economic and political terms, the South is heavily dependent on the countries of the North.
