Welcome to the HAL collection
of the LNEC Laboratory – U1084
The LNEC Laboratory – Laboratory of Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences – is a joint INSERM and University of Poitiers, multi-team and multi-thematic research unit.
Our research interests are focused on neurological and psychiatric pathologies such as Parkinson’s disease, drug addiction, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
The approaches and models we use are those of cell culture and animal models leading to clinical research. Methodologies include operating, cognitive and motor behaviour analyses, functional neuroanatomy, neurochemistry, cell transplantation, electrophysiology, and cell and molecular biology. This allows us to approach scientific issues with a horizontal and vertical approach.
Research projects are funded by several organizations including the ANR, the Fondation de France, the Institut de France, the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale. At local level we are supported by the State-Region Project Contract and the European ERDF programme.
In recent years, the members of the LNEC project have published their work in prestigious journals such as Nature, Science, Nature Neurosciences, Neuron, Biol Psychiatry, Stem Cells, J&nbp;Neuroscience, Neuropsychopharmacology, J Biol Chem, Neurobiology of Aging…
We are working to consolidate translational research activities between researchers and site physicians in neurological and psychiatric diseases. The pooling of cross competences is a major asset to develop concepts and lead to new therapeutic approaches.
