L’industrie d’armement de la Russie, Puissance et avenir

Abstract : The armaments industry and equipment of the Russian army have been hit hard by the collapse of Russian military spending. The military-industrial complex must engage in a policy of diversification towards civilian products or export. Today, he suffers from a low level of staff employment and low salary levels in relation to the qualifications required. The state wants to create large, stable and competitive companies to perfect the high-tech core needed for national defence. While nuclear weapons are still a priority, the same is not true for conventional arms industries. 40% of companies are bankrupt and corruption is very strong. In addition, the demands of the Russian army are insufficiently satisfied. Export is seen as a solution for the future, but the competitiveness of Russian arms is not always sufficient against American firms.
