Relations entre prosodie et marqueurs syntaxiques/discursifs à l’oral en Japonais

Abstract : This paper proposes that the Japanese spoken language can be analyzed based on the theory of « Grammaire de l’intonation (GI)» by MOREL and DANON-BOILEAU 1998. For this purpose, we view two contrastive corpora, the television news, the style of which is very close to the written language, and spontaneous dialogue, studying them by focusing on syntactic and discourse markers. The results indicate that despite the differences of syntactic and prosodic structures between written Japanese and French, in spoken language these two languages show similar phenomena in that the intonation represents a restrictive function that defines the syntactic and prosodic structures and the discourse function. This fact enables us to analyze the Japanese spoken language by intonation based on the GI theory although we should modify the parameters due to certain Japanese prosodic features.
