Approche expérimentale du dimensionnement d’une couche de sol traité renforcée par géosynthétique sur cavités potentielles

Abstract : Designing geotextile-reinforced treated soil layers above potential sinkhole remains quite difficult, since load transfer mechanisms are not well known. To improve the current knowledge on the subject, several full-scale experiments were lead to test a geotextile-reinforced treated soil layer over a sinkhole. Both geosynthetic and soil strains were monitored during the void opening and the overload test. Experimental results are then confronted with numerical simulation, allowing to understand the kinematic and mechanical behaviour of the reinforced treated soil layer. Both experimental and numerical observations enabled then to suggest a new analytical approach to design the geosynthetic reinforcement in the case of a treated soil layer overlying a void.
