Les décisions de l'enseignant à l'aune de valeurs rationnelles

Abstract : We investigate the explicit reasons given by teachers in their planning or decision-making. The philosopher considers subjective, qualitative or ethical values whereas the psychologist prefers more quantitative criteria. The rationality of teachers is mainly grounded by the latter values. For a long time, researchers have proposed models that could describe teachers' rationality. However, the existing models, e.g., bounded rationality (Simon) and arationality (Tochon), have been developed without explainng how one can manipulate variables involved in teachers' decision-making. We present three experiments comparing teachers' decisions with theoretical values on the basis of mathematical models. Such a study of values allows for a better analysis of teachers' work.
